The mission of Veterans International in Cambodia is to assist in the rehabilitation of Cambodians living with disabilities and help them to lead active, fulfilling lives.
Our goal is to support victims of war and poverty who are often living on the margins of society. We give them the tools to help build better lives for themselves and their families, empowering them to become productive members of their communities with greater opportunities and abilities.

Please see our Annual report for 2011.
On June 4, the VIC clinics in Prey Veng and Kratie began implementing a voluntary sliding fee for service. The goal of this fee was to ask those Cambodians who can afford it to contribute to the costs, while continuing to provide free services for the needy. VIC composed a Sliding Fee manual, which also includes the poverty assessment form, registration form, fees for rehabilitation services, patient flow and financial control. The manual ensures that the poor and the rich receive the same quality of services. From the first month of pilot implementation, some 80% of very poor persons with disabilities (PWDs) receiving services committed to participating in the program, although they could only afford to contribute small amount. Cambodia's Persons with Disabilities Foundation has encouraged VIC to continue to implement this program and expects to follow this model in other rehabilitation centers in the future. The voluntary fee for service is expected to generate $10,000 - 20,000 in 2012. The voluntary fee was implemented earlier in the year at the Kien Khleang clinic.
